We are very proud to present a selection of Short Films by British artist/filmmaker Mark Jenkin.
For Cornish filmmaker Mark Jenkin, the camera is truly an extension of the eye. He frames the world around him, that of the dramatic coastline of West Penwith, in 2:1 ratio, captured the environment on a 1976 16mm clockwork Bolex camera, forever committing it to 100ft rolls of Black & White Kodak film stock, the material of collective memory. Lives are captured in these landscapes, interwoven with stories of a disappearing Cornwall, where times are hard, but time itself is not a linear reality in Mark Jenkin’s world. Even his clockwork Bolex camera can only tell it 28 windup seconds at a time.
